Details: Many people are struggling with such hard things as it seems like everywhere we look there is crisis, pain, and loss. The struggles and mental, physical, spiritual and relational problems many are facing today might be rooted in wounds inflicted on them.

You may wonder if healing is really possible.

If you have survived a traumatic experience, such as physical, emotional, or sexual abuse, neglect, household dysfunction, war, terrorism, violence, loss of a loved one, or any other traumatic experience that has impacted your emotional, mental, physical, and/or spiritual health, Broken Whole can help you on your journey toward healing using a Biblical, psychological and scientific approach. This easy-to-follow guide walks through the impact of trauma on the brain, body, and spirit, as well as the journey of grief and healing with activities, reflection questions, and practical tools throughout. Broken Whole is a helpful resource for trauma survivors and their helpers to be used individually or in support and church groups, as well as recovery and counseling centers.

Kristy Robison, a clinical mental health counselor specializing in trauma, became passionate about helping children and adults heal from trauma while walking through her own personal experiences, raising a child with a trauma history, and over twenty years doing ministry in hard places. This led her to counsel and train torture survivors and refugees fleeing genocide, religious persecution and war; as well as training those helping trauma survivors. She started and leads Hope Place, a Trauma-Sensitive Community Development Center in Louisville, Kentucky serving families from over 18 countries. Kristy is passionate about seeing people healed and whole and has had a front row seat in watching God bring life to the broken and dying places in many people's lives and believes it is possible for everyone! She is deeply aware that following the greatest commandment in Scripture to 'love the Lord with all your heart, all your mind, and all your soul' can be extremely difficult for people whose heart is broken, mind is sick, and soul is scared. But through learning and practicing Biblical principles and therapeutic tools, people can begin their journey to healing. Kristy believes what trauma destroys, Jesus can and does restore. In Broken Whole, she walks readers through the science of trauma, the grief journey, and nine steps to healing.

This guide offers: Step by step strategies that can be used individually, or in collaboration with a therapist or support group. Simple and colorful diagrams and illustrations that help educate and make sense of trauma, grief, and healing. Worksheets to practice skills that bring understanding, relief and healing. Scripture, Biblical examples, and inspiring quotes throughout. A leader's guide to implement in support group settings. A heaping dose of HOPE! Kristy believes that healing from trauma cannot be separated from the powerful work of God and that healing methods are laid out all through Scripture, which perfectly align with science. She calls all those who are working to help those suffering to model Jesus' sacrificial love, compassion, grace, and care in how they love, listen, lead, and guide.
